Celecoxib (Celebrex)
It exerts a prominent anti-inflammatory and analgesic action on the background of low ulcerogenic effect (in comparison with NSAIDs).
Pharmacokinetics. It is quickly absorbed, Сmax 2-3h., undergoes biotransformation in liver and gets excreted in the form of metabolites mainly out of GIT.
Indications: rheumatoid arthritis, degenerative osteoarthritis, reactive synovitis.
Prescription: orally – 0,1g 2 times a day or 0,2g 1-2 times a day.
Adverse effects: dyspepsia, exacerbation of gastric and duodenal ulcers, GI hemorrhages, sleep disorder, impaired vision, ringing in ears, depression, anxiety, cough, AP rise, renal dysfunction, edema, anemia, leucopenia, skin allergic reactions.
Dosage forms: 0,1 and 0,2 g capsules.
