Nimesulid

Nimesulid (Nise, Nimesil). Selective COX-2 inhibitor. It exerts anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipurietic actions.

Pharmacokinetics. It is quickly and completely absorbed, Сmax 1,5-2,5h., undergoes biotransformation in liver, excreted by kidneys and intestines.

Indications: osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthrosis, bursitis, tendovaginitis as well as in case of pain syndrome (trauma, in postoperative syndrome) and fever states. 

 It is used orally and externally.
  • Orally ( after meal) it is prescribed for adults – 0,1-0,2g 2 times a day.
  • Gel is applied to the painful region of skin 2-3 times a day in the course of 10 days.
Dosage forms: 0,1 and 0,2 g tab.; granules (0.1 g) for the solution meant to be taken orally, in 2 g satchels; 1% suspension for the per os use in 60 ml bottles; 1% gel (transdermal) in 20 g tubes.
